"An index of Indentures of Norwich Apprentices enrolled with the Norwich Assembley, Henry VII, George II, Norwich Record Society, VOL. XXIX ( 1959) Page 19, We find an entry relating to Henry Boateman. He is described as the son of Henry of Norwich, Innkeeper, and is an apprenticed to Thomas Jay of Norwich, in 1659 for 9 years". "Most children were apprenticed at the age of 12 years. This would be the right age for our Henry, he was known as a tailor in Lancaster, Virginia". Edit Delete
