    Kort na terugkeer in Nederland overleed Artje Fockens.

Onduidelijk is wat de relatie is tussen Maaike Vermaat en Joannes Hoolboom, die in hetzelfde graf in Apeldoorn begraven zijn.
Aangezien de bijzetting van Maaike plaatsvond binnen 10 jaar na de begrafenis van Joannes, dis binnen de periode van grafrust, moet er een relatie geweest zijn tussen Maaike en Joannes.
Het vreemde is echter dat in de overlijdensasvertentie van Joannes wordt gesproken over "onze neef en huisgenoot" door E.F.J. Hoolboom (curator) en A. Hoolboom (beiden te Dordrecht) en mevr. M. de Jonge-van Tholen en Rikie (beiden te Apeldoorn, Huijgenslaan 19).
Navraag bij de begraafplaats leverde niets op. Het heeft er de schijn van dat Joannes Hoolboom tijdens de oorlog "even snel" moest worden begraven en dat naderhand zijn familie hem elders heeft herbegraven. Er blijkt uit niets dat er tussen hem en Maaike enige relatie of zelfs bekendheid aan de orde is.
