Op vrijdag 11-09-1846 om 9.00 uur wordt te Rheeze een publieke verkoop gehouden van mobilia en op stam staande vruchten ten behoeve van Egbert Dunnewind, weduwnaar van Evertjen Hannink, en zijn 4 minderjarige kinderen, hun toeziend voogd is Egbert Hannink te Brucht.

Staat van Landverhuizers over het jaar 1846:
Egbert Dunnewind, landbouwer, 54 jaar, Gereformeerd, welgesteld 15e klasse, 4 kinderen, vooruitzicht op een beter bestaan, Nieuw Orleans. Zijn vertrokken in de maand september 1846.
De verhuizeing van de Roomsch Catholieken ontstaat enkel om elders een beter betaan te vinden, de Gereformeerden zijn alle afgescheidenen wier vertrek mede aan Godsdienst ijver is toe te schrijven.

heeft zijn vaste goederen verkocht voor 1619 gld., waarschijnlijk vermogen 900 gld.

"Southerner", dit schip vervoerde o.a. de stichter van de Holland kolonie Albertus C. van Raalte. Op 24-09-1846 vertrok de groep vanaf de wef te Arnhem met een Rijn boot naar Rotterdam. Door het kanaal Voorn richting zee op 02-10-1846 en arriveerden in New York op 19-11-1846. Vandaar richting Albany met een stoomschip, daarna de kanaalboot naar Buffalo. Op 27-11-1846 staken ze het Erie meer over richting Detroit Michigan. Bijna de gehele groep bleef daar overwinteren. Een kleine groep ging naar de kolonie op 09-02-1847 en verbleef in de Old Wing Mission in Fillmore Township.
