Notes about Daniel Been

Tot de vele kunstschilders die Baarn als woonplaats kozen behoorde destijds ook de in 1885 in Rotterdam geboren kunstschilder Daniel Been. Hij was leerling van de Academie voor Beeldende Kunst te Rotterdam. In 1921 trad Daniel Been in het huwelijk met Margaretha Bouman. Daniel was toen 35 jaar en Margaretha 36 jaar. Helaas bleef het huwelijk kinderloos. Vermoedelijk hebben zij tot 1932 in Rotterdam gewoond. In laatstgenoemd jaar verhuisde het paar naar Overschie. Inmiddels zal Daniels werk aandacht hebben getrokken en zijn naam als kunstschilder bekend geworden zijn. Via de kunsthandel van de gebr. Koch in Rotterdam en 's Gravenhage zijn jaren achtereen zijn schilderstukken met veel succes verkocht.
