    Deceased Name: Alberta Kittrell Allen
    peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. She was born on April 3, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Hinton Greene and Alberta Martin Kittrell. Alberta worked for the Commerce Department in Washington, D.C. during WWII. After that, Alberta moved to Tucson, Arizona and married Ronald Griffith Allen. Ron and Alberta enjoyed traveling and square dancing. She worked for many years at the Tree Ring Laboratory on campus at the University of Arizona. Alberta volunteered at the Tucson Community Food Bank for 20 years. As an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, she sang in the choir and was a member of the Estralita Circle. Alberta loved cats, flowers and playing bridge. She had a deep love for movies, history and the performing arts. Alberta was a very giving and unconditionally loving Christian woman. Her beautiful SPIRIT will always be with us. Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Ron. She is survived by her brother, Hinton Kittrell; daughters, Virginia Kwolek and Ann Allen; grandson, Queston Kwolek and many other family members and friends. A graveside service was held with her two daughters in attendance at Lawrence Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee on Saturday, January 22, 2011. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Memorial Garden at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Tucson. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Christian Appalachian Project, the Tucson Community Food Bank or the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

    Alberta Kittrell Allen

    Mrs. Alberta Allen was born on April 3, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Hinton Greene and Alberta Martin Kittrell. Alberta worked for many years at the University of Arizona. She enjoyed volunteering at the Community Food Bank. She loved flowers and playing bridge. Alberta had a deep love for the arts. She was a very giving and unconditionally loving Christian woman.

    Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughters, Virginia Kwolek and Ann Allen; grandson, Queston Kwolek; brother, Hinton Kittrell; and many other family and friends.

    Mrs. Allen was 92 years old and a resident of Tucson, Arizona. She passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Peppies House Hospice in Tucson.

    Graveside services for Mrs. Allen will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Lawrence Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating.

    The Allen Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
