Notes about Isaac Gore

Isaac Gore had the following wives:
1) Margaret Grissett b. 1825 with whom he had 13 children (some have 14 children recorded) - m. abt 1841
2) Eliza Ludlum b. 1854 with whom he had Isaac Gore Jr. b. 1895. Married abt 1892.

UNDER INVESTIGATION
In the 1910 census he states he is married twice. Which could mean Margaret Grissett and Margaret Hickman are one and the same person and that he was married the second time to Eliza Ludlum.

Research indicated that Margaret was a Hickman - per death certificates of children. However Isaac Gore was married only two times. We are inclined to say that Margaret was a Grissett, d/o George Grissett. The confusion may have arisen because their daughter Mary Ann Gore married Jack "Jackson" M. Hickman and had a child named Mary M. "Margaret" Hickman b. 1866. She is shown living in the household of Isaac Gore in the 1870 census. Mary Ann Gore married Ludlum in 1871. It is her death certificate which states that her mother was a Grissett.

Conclusion: Isaac Gore's first wife was a Grissett. Further documentation needed.
