Rev. Gottlieb Hoeffner, a Methodist Episcopal minister, marriedFrederick and Rachel in the Town of Prospect, Marion County, Ohio. Rev. Valentine Walddauf & Mary (Haag) Emley were witnesses.

The couple came to Wisconsin in 1853. They farmed in Town Sherman,Sheboygan County.

The following information was recorded in the 1850 Ohio Census:Frederick, age 24, Rachel, age 19 and Jacob F, age 1 year, resided inWaldo Township, Marion County, Ohio.

As members of the Rock River G.M.E. Church, Fillmore, WI, Frederick Haagand Mary Emley witnessed the baptism of Karl Heinrich Frinck?, son ofJacob & Rosina (born Hirsch)

Frederick & Rachel were sponsors for Johannes Frederick, b. February 24,1861 and Anna Sophia Sauter, b. August 18, 1861. Both were baptisedMarch 8, 1865. They were the children of Christina & Frederick Sauter(nee Brand). The baptism took place at Rock River G.M.E. Church,Fillmore, Wisconsin.

Frederick & Rachel farmed in the Town of Sherman for more than 30 years.When they retired from farming, they moved to the Village of Bataviawhere they resided until the time of their death.

The couple celebrated 67 years of marriage, Sunday March 21, 1915.
