Wohnte mit seine Eltern auf einem Bauernhof, welche von Gut Tolksdorf, unter den Grafen zu Dohna, gepachtet war.
Er arbeitete auf Gut Tolksdorf als Stallknecht. 1944 hat er sich freiwillig zur Kriegsdienst gemeldet. 1944 in Rusland durch eine granate verwundet worden (Schädelverletzung, Hirnverletzung, Rücken, Bein). 1 Jahr in Lazaret in Wien gewesen. Durch die Amerikaner, bei deren Abzug, mitgenommen worden. Auf einem Bauernhof in ECHEM(Kreis Lüneburg) seinen Bruder Gottfried begegnet, der da arbeitete, so wie auch Mandelartz Anna, seine spätere Frau.(Von ca.Frühling 1945 bis Herbst 1945.)
Er wollte nach dem Krieg nach Boizenburg, zu seinen Verwanten. Die Grenze war aber schon zu.
Frau Mandelartz nam ihm Herbst 1945 mit nach ihrem Elternhaus in Würselen Schweilbacherstr. 32. 1947 heirateten sie und wohnten von 1957 bis 1967 Kaiserstr. 57, danach Auf dem Troppenbruch 37, 52146 Würselen (Eigentum).
Er arbeitete nach dem Krieg zuerst ca. 1 Jahr bei Bauer Delahay in Herzogenrath.
Danach an der Textilinginieurschule Aachen ( später Fachhochschule ), zuerst als Boten, danach als Hausmeister und zuletzt als Drucker.
