Halfdan de Milde (Oud-Noors: Hálfdan hinn mildi ok hinn matarilli, (wat betekent dat de genereuze en gierige op voedsel)) was de zoon van koning Eystein Halfdansson, van het Huis van Yngling en hij volgde zijn vader als koning, volgens Heimskringla. Hij was koning van Romerike en Vestfold.

Er werd gezegd dat hij gul was in goud, maar zijn mannen uithongerde met voedsel. Hij was een groot krijger die vaak geplunderd en verzamelde grote buit.

Zijn vrouw was Liv, de dochter van koning Dag van Vestmar. Halfdan de Mild stierf aan ziekte in zijn bed.

Hij werd opgevolgd door zijn zoon, Gudrød de Jager.

Volgens de historicus Halvdan Koht, Halfdan kan zijn geweest die onafhankelijkheid te winnen voor Vestfold tijdens de turbulente jaren van 813-14. De Frankische annalen stellen dat de koningen van Hedeby op dit moment een opstand in Vestfold moesten oplossen. Volgens Ynglingatal, Halfdan's mensen "behaalde de overwinning" in deze opstand, en Halfdan is dus de eerste onafhankelijke heerser van Vestfold.
