Ouders en recente voorouders waren rasechte Waregemnaren. De oorsprong van mijn familie Naessens is van Nieuwenhove bij Waregem, meer bepaald: de Spitaalstraat. Eén van de oudste vermeldingen van de Heerlijkheid van Sint-Jans (bezittingen van de Orde van Malta) dateert van 1370. De voorouders waren in eerste instantie landbouwers, daarna werden het thuiswevers, en later waren de meesten werkzaam in de bouw (metser, timmerman, elektrieker) Ook de voorouders langs mijn moeders zijde waren rasechte Waregemnaren: de familie KINT. Raar maar waar: onze opzoekingen brachten ons bij de adel, en zelfs tot koningen. Meerderen hebben me geholpen voor het maken van deze stamboom. In het bijzonder denk ik aan twee kozens Adrien en Etienne Naessens. Hartelijk dank aan allen.
