Uit de Noordoostpolder van 16-03-2023:
Een van de bewoners van verzorgingshuis Markehof in Marknesse vierde afgelopen week haar 100e verjaardag. Een bijzondere mijlpaal om toch wel even bij stil te staan. Waar je moest zijn, kon je al goed zien want op de deur zat een groot plakkaat met daarop mevrouw Van der Stelt 100 jaar.
Binnen waren ook veel vlaggetjes opgehangen en dat verhoogde de feestvreugde zeker. Er waren heel wat familieleden aanwezig. En de koffie met gebak ontbrak natuurlijk bij deze gelegenheid ook niet.
Geboren in het Noord-Hollandse Krommenie, maar in mei 1956 al naar de Noordoostpolder verhuisd en toen het oog laten vallen op een mooie boerderij aan de Paardenweg onder de rook van Kraggenburg. Op dit adres werd ook het loonwerkbedrijf gestart. Naast dit loonbedrijf begon de familie ook nog een smederij in het dorp Kraggenburg, een adres waar vele fruittelers en agrariërs en andere klanten hun weg vonden voor de nodige reparaties of de aankoop van een nieuwe machine. Smederij Van der Stelt was een begrip in en om Kraggenburg.
In 1985 verhuisde het echtpaar naar Emmeloord verhuist, maar nu mevrouw Van der Stelt meer zorg nodig heeft, woont ze met veel plezier in verzorgingshuis Markehof. Uiteraard kreeg ze naast haar familie ook bezoek van de burgemeester van de Noordoostpolder. Roger de Groot bracht haar de felicitaties van het gemeentebestuur over, vergezeld van een mooie bos bloemen en een prachtige taart met daarop de tekst 100 jaar.
