Marten Schut (1798-1871) zette het bedrijf voort. In april 1835 kocht Marten van zijn vier broers hun aandeel in de molen voor 2800 gld en trouwde daarna met Jacoba van Ommeren. Zij overleed in 1859; kort daarna nam de zoon Gerrit Schut het bedrijf over van zijn vader, die 4 augustus 1871 overleed. Gerrit had slechts één broer, Pouwel, geboren 1838. Hun erfenis bestond uit de opstal van de molen (3000 gld), gereedschappen (233 gld), grondstoffen (1684 gld), landbouwgereedschap (275 gld), meubilair (424 gld), effecten (5950 gld) en contanten (734 gld), samen 13367 gld. Gerrit Schut, die de molenopstal bij zijn deel van de erfenis kreeg, is in maart 1839 geboren en trouwde in maart 1873 met Maria Willemina Hulshuizen, de 26-jarige dochter van de naburige korenmolenaar Hendrik Hulshuizen. De eerste zoon, Marten, werd twee maanden later geboren en werd gevolgd door twee broers en zusters. In 1894 werd de molen gemechaniseerd: er kwam een 49 pk stoommachine. Op 6 mei 1895 brandde de fabriek echter geheel af, ook molen en woonhuis. Een geheel nieuwe, door stoom gedreven fabriek werd nu gebouwd, waar men langs machinale weg de beste papiersoorten ging produceren. In 1908 kwam hier een voor die tijd ultramoderne gasmotor, gebouwd door Thomassen in Arnhem, die tot 1941 in de fabriek dienst heeft gedaan en nu, na vele omzwervingen, als technisch monument bij de Technische Hogeschool in Delft staat. In het begin van deze eeuw kreeg zoon Marten Schut de leiding en werd de firma G. Schut & Zonen opgericht. De vader Gerrit Schut is eerst in 1926 op 87-jarige leeftijd in Heelsum overleden.
