    Peter was een van de zonen in het tien kinderen tellende gezin van de mijnwerker Hubertus Theodorus Cremers en Anna Maria Moors. Peter trouwde op 11 maart 1927 met Catharina Aleida Peters(†22 mei 1983 Nijmegen). Hij werd vader van vier kinderen. In de jaren dertig verhuisde hij uit Limburg met zijn gezin naar Nijmegen. Hoe hij in het Kamp Vught terecht kwam, staat niet vast, maar het verhaal gaat in de familie dat hij zonder werk zat en om zijn gezin te onderhouden in de zwarthandel terecht is gekomen en zodoende in Kamp Vught. Volgens de Sterbeurkunde van het Deutsches Standesamt Vught d.d. 28 juli'44 is hij er op 31 januari 1943 overleden aan "Herz- und Kreislaufschwäche bei Magen- und Darmkatarrh".

    Het overlijden van Cremers werd in Nijmegen ingeschreven.
