Op 9 februari 1702 gaf het dorps- en het armenbestuur van Rijsbergen “uijt mede doogentheijt, en Christelijcke lieffde” aan Simon de Brabander, afkomstig uit Mechelen, en diens vrouw Elisabeth Tirion verlof om in het dorp te wonen op voorwaarde, dat zij en hun kinderen nooit aanspraak konden maken de fondsen van het armbestuur, wat man en vrouw ondertekenden.

Rond 1726 verhuizen twee zoons (Jacob en Willem) van Rijsbergen naar het Westland (Naaldwijk). De jongste zoon Simon gaat rond 1755 ook naar het Westland (Maassluis).

Eind jaren zeventig ben ik begonnen met familieonderzoek naar de familie De Brabander. Het resultaat staat nu op internet.
