Hij woonde daarvoor aan de schadevrij gebleven Burgemeester Jaslaan 6 en overleed vrij kort na de verhuizing, op 28 mei 1955. Vogel was bij leven gemeentesecretaris van Dubbeldam. Zijn vrouw, Jaantje A. van der Net, is in de woning gebleven totdat zij verhuisde, op 17 juni 1958.
