Diegene wat in die Tulbach distrik agtergebly het, gebruik later de Clerk vorm van die van. Van hulle het later weer op Vogelvlei geboer tot die plaas later onder die water van die dam wat water aan die groterwordende Kaapstad moes verskaf, verdwyn het. Joseph se kleinseun Abraham Jacobus (1787) was een van die trekkers wat uit die Piketberg omgewing al verder noord tot in Namakwaland getrek het. Baie van daardie nageslag het later Ooswaarts die binneland in getrek totdat party hulle weer in die Ceres-distrik bevind het. Sommige het selfs tot in die suide van Suidwes verhuis.
