There is a court document listing the heirs of James Madison Hill. It lists his lawful children as: Nancy Hill who married Tom Foster, Jannie Hill who married -- Bow, T M Hill who married S S Phillips, and Josey Hill who married Marion Phillips.
It also states that a short time before he died, James Madison Hill willed Caroline Dixon "a childs part in said land which was one fifth undivided interest in said land."
Caroline Dixon was the illegitimate daughter of James Madison Hill's half brother's (Bill Dixon) widow.
