Notes about Klaas Winter

Militaire keuring: 7 jaar lager onderwijs, 1,82 lang, geschikt gekeurd, voorkeur 1 zeemilitie, 2. luchtvaartafdeling. Geschikt geacht in omgekeerde volgorde.
Hij kwam van Spaarndam, was werkzaam in de wegenbouw, verborg 8 joden in huis, werd verraden door buurman Bos mbt illegaal slachten van schapen; gevangen gezet in Scheveningen, kamp Amersfoort en kamp Vught waar hij aan uitputting overleed. De zoon van buurman Bos kwam ook in Vught terecht en heeft Winter daar persoonlijk begraven. De 8 joden, allen van één familie met aangetrouwden, konden met een boot via de sloot vluchten naar een alleenstaande boerderij aan de Zaandammerweg. Na de oorlog bleef contact met de familie die ging wonen in de Rijnstraat in Amsterdam (Huize Rijnstroom).
