Charles Watt is the son of Selina Canady b. 1846., m. Owen Malcom Watt, reportedly to be a sea captain. She gave birth to Charlie W. Canady. Watt apparently still had a wife in Germany. Charles elected to keep the name Canady rather than Watt. Later Selina married a Benton, She is buried in Ash, NC. This information came from Ron Canady in a message of 9 Feb 2000 on the Family History.com.
