errInés nació en Abrantes,pero en 1543 fué llevada a la cárcel dela inquisicion,en su proceso aparecieron como testigos sus padres.-Diogo Castanho y Ana Dias,quienes separadamente dijeron ser originarios de España pero que habían entrado a Portugal cuando los judíos fueron expulsados de aquel país,esto es en 1492. La familia Castanho se fué a residir a Abrantes,mientras que la Días se fué a Leiria,donde vivía la familia Méndez.
