Maasbommel is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of West Maas en Waal, and lies about 7 km north of Oss. It received city rights in 1328. Maasbommel was a separate municipality until 1818, when it was merged with Appeltern. In 2001, the town of Maasbommel had 615 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.28 km², and contained 255 residences. The statistical area "Maasbommel", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1320. Maasbommel is known as the place where pioneering floating amphibious houses have been built.
