Jacob went to America in 1905. At first he was on the shipmanifest from SS Carpathia which arrived on 13-11-1905. Destination Mansfield/Oh, with wife Anna, 26, and children Johann 3 and Katharina 11/12. This family was striken from the manifest, they probably came on a later ship (wife is Anna Doerner).
This later ship, the Graff Waldersee, arrived from Hamburg on 29-12-1905 in New York. Jacob was then 26 years old. His son Johannes was not on the list. Perhaps he died and that was the reason of the later ship? Destination Chicago. He arrived with wife Anna Dorner, 26, and daughter Catherine 11/12, going to uncle Jacob Fritz.
