He gained the title of 2nd Lord Strange, of Blackmere. He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire in 1332.3 He fought in the Battle of Crécy in 1346.3

Notes: son and heir, aged 18 at his father's death. On 1 Aug 1325 the wardship of his father's lands was committed to him upon payment of £400 yearly. On 26 Feb 1326-27 he had proved his age and done homage, and was to have seisin. He was sum. to Parl. from 23 Oct 1330 (4 Edw. III) to 20 Apr 1344 (18 Edw. III) by writs directed Johanni Lestraunge and on 1 Jan and 10 Mar 1348-49 (23 Edw. III) by writs directed Johanni Lestraunge of Blackmere. In 1337, described as of Blanmouster (Whitechurch) he was an executor of the will of his cousin Eubolo Lestrange. In 1332 and thereafter he was in commissions for Salop. In 1346 he accompanied the King to Normandy and was at Crecy and Calais. He md. Ankaret, daughter of William Butler of Wem, Salop., and sister and coheir of Edward Butler. He died 21 Jul 1349. Ankaret survived him and apparently md. 2ndly, Sir Thomas De Ferrers. She died 8 Oct.

Reginald Grey, 2nd Baron Grey de Ruthyn (ca. 1322 – ca. 4 Aug 1388) was the son of Roger Grey, 1st Baron Grey de Ruthyn and Elizabeth de Hastings. He was summoned to Parliament from 1354 to 1388.
He md. Alianore Le Strange, dau. of John Le Strange, 2nd Baron Strange of Blackmere and Ankaret Le Botiller. He succeeded his father and was succeeded by his son, Reginald. His youngest daughter, Ida de Grey, who md. Sir John Cockayne, was an ancestress of Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard, Jane Seymour, and many other members of the nobility. He had five children:
1. Reginald Grey, 3rd Baron Grey de Ruthyn (ca. 1362 – 30 Sep 1440), md. firstly, Margaret de Ros, by whom he had six children, and secondly, Joan de Astley, by whom he had another six children.
2. Eleanor Grey, md. William Lucy.
3. John Grey (born 1364, date of death unknown)
4. Catherine Grey (born 1366, date of death unknown)
