DEATH: In P/P Rec of SC as 1813 Spartanburg Distr SC. OTHER: The late Dr. Maurice Pruitt of Chattanooga, TN, thought that William Pruitt had the listed sons and possibly a total of thirteen sons. The listed sons are credited to him and wife Judith. William bought 100 acres on Terrible Creek, Halifax Co, VA, from his brother, Thomas Pruitt, Jr, on 21 Feb 1760. In 1764 he bought 50 acres on Catawba Creek, Halifax Co, VA, from his brother Abraham. He was listed on the polls for 1764 and 1765. In 1767 William sold his 100 acres back to his brother, Thomas, Jr, and his 50 acres to John Skailes. It is believed that he moved his family into North Carolina about this time.
