Het voorgeslacht van Lucas Ocken, Klaas Woldring en Diederik van Bussel is samengesteld door Lucas A. Ocken
De roots van deze familie Ocken liggen op het Duitse waddeneiland Borkum. Veel van het onderzoek daarnaar werd in 1992 verricht door Alfred Donn uit Bad Oeynhausen en is nu in deze genealogie verwerkt. Voor het onderzoek naar de Groninger familie Van Swinderen heeft de Geslachtslijst van de familie Van Swinderen uit 1850 als uitgangspunt gediend. Sommige gegevens werden gecorrigeerd, vele konden worden aangevuld, o.a. dank zij het niet aflatend enthousiasme van Brend Vrients. Voor gegevens omtrent de familie Boer(e)ma ben ik Chris Boerema uit Hoogezand erkentelijk. De basis voor de uitwerking van het geslacht Woldring ligt in het boek van G.A. Brongers "Vijf eeuwen geschiedenis van een Drents-Groningse familie", uitgegeven in 1970. Waar noodzakelijk werden data gecorrigeerd.
