Ik ben sinds 1997 bezig met het onderzoek naar mijn voorouders. De oudst gevonden de Waal is Claas of Nicolaas de Waal die in 1777 in Amersfoort trouwt met Hendrina Kramer. Waar Claas zelf vandaan komt heb ik nog niet kunnen achterhalen. De familie blijft enkele generaties in Amersfoort wonen, waarna een deel zich verspreid over Nederland, met name Den Haag en Eindhoven.
